Apa Itu Reflexive Pronouns?

Reflexive Pronouns adalah kata ganti yang merujuk kembali kepada subjek dalam kalimat.

Digunakan ketika pelaku dan penerima aksi adalah orang atau benda yang sama.

Rumus Penting

Subject = Object

Contoh

I hurt myself.
→ Saya melukai diri saya sendiri.

Kesalahan Umum

❌ She hurt myself.

✅ She hurt herself.

Karena subjek "she" harus menggunakan "herself", bukan "myself".

Fungsi Utama Reflexive Pronouns

1. Subjek = Objek (Aksi ke Diri Sendiri)

Digunakan ketika seseorang melakukan tindakan kepada dirinya sendiri.

Contoh

I cut myself while cooking.
→ Saya melukai diri sendiri saat memasak.
She taught herself Spanish.
→ Dia belajar bahasa Spanyol sendiri.
We enjoyed ourselves at the party.
→ Kami bersenang-senang di pesta.

2. Dengan "By" (Sendiri / Tanpa Bantuan)

Pola ini menunjukkan seseorang melakukan sesuatu tanpa bantuan orang lain.

I live by myself.
→ Saya tinggal sendiri.
She built the table by herself.
→ Dia membuat meja itu sendiri.
Did you do this by yourself?
→ Apakah kamu melakukannya sendiri?

3. Untuk Penekanan (Emphasis)

Digunakan untuk memberi penekanan bahwa orang tersebut secara langsung melakukan sesuatu.

Contoh

I myself saw the accident.
→ Saya sendiri melihat kecelakaan itu.
The president himself will attend.
→ Presiden sendiri akan hadir.
You should talk to her yourself.
→ Kamu harus berbicara langsung dengannya.

4. Dengan Kata Kerja Tertentu

Beberapa ekspresi umum menggunakan reflexive pronouns.

Kesalahan Umum

1. Reflexive Pronoun Tidak Boleh Menjadi Subjek

❌ Myself will go.

✅ I will go myself.

→ Saya akan pergi sendiri.

2. Salah Memasangkan Pronoun

❌ They enjoyed ourself.

✅ They enjoyed themselves.

→ Mereka bersenang-senang.

3. Salah Menggunakan "Myself"

❌ Please contact myself.

✅ Please contact me.

→ Silakan hubungi saya.

"Myself" hanya digunakan ketika kembali kepada subjek "I".

4. Salah Menggunakan "By"

→ sendiri

5. Setelah Preposisi

→ antara kamu dan saya

Setelah preposisi seperti between, for, with, dan to biasanya digunakan object pronoun (me, him, her, us, them).
