Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Dear brothers and sisters, today we will talk about Sufism, or Tasawuf. Sufism is the spiritual path in Islam that teaches us how to purify the heart and get closer to Allah. A Sufi does not only worship with the body, but also with the heart full of love, sincerity, and remembrance of Allah.
Allah does not look at our appearance, but He looks at our hearts. Therefore, the journey of Sufism is the journey of cleaning the soul and filling it with divine light.
My brothers and sisters,
In this modern world, many people are busy chasing wealth, status, and pleasure. However, their hearts remain empty. Sufism teaches us that true happiness is not found in worldly things, but in closeness to Allah.
The scholars of Sufism teach three important things:
1. Purifying the heart from jealousy, arrogance, hatred, and greed.
2. Remembering Allah constantly through dzikir and worship.
3. Loving Allah more than worldly desires.
A Sufi is not someone who leaves the world completely, but someone who keeps Allah in the center of life.
One great Sufi said:
> “The heart that remembers Allah will never feel lonely.”
When we remember Allah, our hearts become peaceful. Allah says in the Qur’an:
> “Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”
Sufism also teaches sincerity. We worship not to be praised by people, but only to seek Allah’s pleasure.
Brothers and sisters,
The real enemy is not other people. The real enemy is our uncontrolled ego, or nafs. Therefore, Sufism is a struggle to control the ego and become a better servant of Allah.
Dear Muslims,
Let us walk on the path of Sufism by purifying our hearts, increasing our worship, and loving Allah sincerely. May Allah fill our hearts with faith, peace, and wisdom.
