Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Dear brothers and sisters,
Today, we will discuss patience, or sabar. Patience is one of the greatest qualities of a believer. Life is full of tests, difficulties, sadness, and challenges. Without patience, the heart becomes weak and hopeless.
In Sufism, patience is not only about waiting quietly. Patience means remaining faithful, calm, and trusting Allah in every situation.
My beloved Muslims,
Every human being will face trials in life. Some people are tested with poverty, sickness, failure, or broken hearts. But Allah never gives a burden beyond our ability.
A patient person understands that every hardship contains wisdom.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, Allah is with those who are patient.”
This verse is very beautiful. Imagine, when we are patient, Allah is with us.
Brothers and sisters,
There are three kinds of patience:
1. Patience in obedience
Staying consistent in prayer, fasting, and worship.
2. Patience in avoiding sins
Controlling desires and avoiding evil.
3. Patience during hardships
Accepting difficulties without losing faith in Allah.
The Sufis teach that patience purifies the soul. Difficulties are not punishments; sometimes they are ways for Allah to raise our spiritual level.
One wise scholar said:
“Patience turns pain into light.”
When a servant is patient, his heart becomes stronger and closer to Allah.
Remember, patience does not mean weakness. Patience is spiritual strength.
Dear brothers and sisters,
Let us practice patience in every condition of life. When happiness comes, be patient and humble. When hardship comes, be patient and hopeful.
May Allah fill our hearts with patience, faith, and peace.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
